Lysistrata Jones, a critically acclaimed musical comedy about cheerleaders who withhold sex from their boyfriends on the basketball team until the team ends its losing streak, will make its Midwest premiere Nov. 15-18 at Roosevelt University in Chicago.
Loosely based on Aristophanes’ ancient Greek antiwar comedy, the pop musical about “faith, hoops and chastity” made its debut on Broadway in 2011. Roosevelt’s Chicago College of Performing Arts (CCPA) was the first to license the show, which will be staged by award-winning guest director and former Broadway actor Kurt Johns.
